Compensation: $150k-185k per year, DOE Generous Benefits

Job Summary:

The Controller will partner with the Accounting & Administrative Manager to coordinate and manage on-site accounting for Brillouin Energy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP and government contract accounting, including compliance with DCAA requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, A/R, and A/P
• Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Streamline accounting workflows and financial processes
• Manage cash balance between bank accounts
• Prepare bi-monthly payroll journal entries in QuickBooks
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Preparation of 1099s
• Manage accounting systems, lead improvements or transitions, and maintain procedure manuals.
• Support FP&A with reports and provide variance analysis and recommendations
• Support Brillouin team members in maintaining accurate inventory records and perform periodic reconciliations
• Develop COGS methodology
• Partner with FP&A, Operations and Manufacturing teams to align financial reporting with production metrics

Qualifications:

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
• High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive financial and human resources information confidentially
• Expertise in GAAP and accounting best practices and audit preparation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe, NetSuite, QuickBooks
• Experience implementing ERP Financial Software
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with DCAA compliance (preferred)
• CPA or CPA Candidate (preferred)
