Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
- Verify patient insurance coverage, explain treatment plans, and collect payments including medical billing and collections
- Accurately review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Handle phone communication with patients, insurance companies, and vendors with excellent phone etiquette and professionalism
- Support clinical staff by coordinating appointments, managing care plans, and ensuring smooth clinic flow
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools to prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation
Experience
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental clinic workflows is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance procedures (including Medicare), and health information management standards
- Bilingual abilities are a valuable asset to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Excellent clerical skills including typing (10-key), phone communication, and office organization
- Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies
- Customer service orientation with a focus on patient satisfaction in a healthcare setting
