What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager position at Brilliant General Maintenance Inc.?
This position is in the Janitorial industry and will cover all customer locations in the Michigan market.
The position is Salary and you must be flexible to work shifts outside of the norm when needed, as well as field calls, texts and emails when not on site. The responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
The function of the Operations Manager is to act as a liaison between the customer, and front line workers. The Operations Manager will design, coordinate, and oversee systems and procedures that will facilitate smooth quality and safe operations.
The Operations Manager interfaces with facilities customers, their internal customers, BGM supervisors, Regional manager, President & Office manager.
The Operations Manager reports to the Regional manager in reference to staffing, supply, equipment, employee's and customer needs and satisfaction.
AUTHORITY
The Operations Manager has the authority to suggest and carry out after Regional and HR manager approved discipline, including termination, if necessary, employees reporting to him or her.
Purchase materials and supplies necessary to meet operations needs.
To approve transfers of personnel or equipment within his/her site(s).
To approve PTO requests for direct reports and PTO request at the second level after supervisor approval.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that operations meet internal and external customer needs.
To provide adequate equipment, materials, and staff to meet operation needs.
Train and evaluate employees reporting to him or her.
Ensure that all work performed meets company's quality and safety standards.
Ensure that all production billable hours are reported to the billing dept
DUTIES
Control and maintain the operating condition and security of all company trucks, tools, supplies and equipment under his or her control.
Conduct job-site visit/inspections needed to ensure that BGM & Customer quality and safety standards are met.
Evaluate the job performance of all employees reporting to him or her at least once a year based on the standards of performance included in the position description and discuss the evaluation with employees and encourage the employee to write his/her comments.
Promote regular training sessions of safety, quality, and customer service on site or our training center.
Conduct regular meetings with Regional manager and billing dept. representative to review all ongoing projects, procedures, problems, etc.
Any other related duty as directed by department and Regional Manager.
To maintain and control all safety and environmental issues to comply with industry standards.
