Duties
Pre-K Lead Teacher – Job Duties
- Curriculum Coordination: Develop and implement educational curriculum by creating classroom activities aligned with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead by example, promoting teaching team success through modeling best practices, coaching, and mentoring staff.
- Lesson Planning & Instruction: Plan and execute individual and group activities that actively engage children and support social, cognitive, and emotional development.
- Parent Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents via informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences to support student growth.
- Compliance & Policies: Ensure all center policies and state regulations are consistently met.
- Classroom Environment: Maintain a healthy, safe, and secure classroom, ensuring hygiene and cleanliness standards are upheld.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities, hygiene, and safety protocols.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation, forms, and student records in compliance with center and state requirements.
- Professional Development: Pursue ongoing professional growth through a personal development plan to continually enhance teaching quality and classroom outcomes.
Requirements
Pre-K Lead Teacher Requirements
- High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching preschool-aged children (3–5 years).
- Knowledge of child development and ability to create age-appropriate curriculum.
- Strong classroom management and leadership skills; experience mentoring teaching staff a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Energetic, patient, and passionate about fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Ability to participate in physical activities, lift and assist children, and handle classroom materials.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and parent communication
