What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audiobook Proofer position at Brilliance Publishing, Inc.?
- College courses in English, literature, and/or writing
- An understanding of vocabulary, English grammar, and pronunciations demonstrated by the ability to pass an audio and print proofing test
- Basic level skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Windows Media Player, iTunes, and Adobe Reader
The successful candidate will be passionate about both the spoken and written word with a high attention to detail. You will be working with audiobook producers, recording engineers, designers and marketing to ensure our audiobooks meet the highest quality standards.

- BA/BS
- Familiarity with any English grammar style manual (i.e. Chicago Manual of Style, MLA Manual of Style, APA Manual of Style, AP Style Manual, etc.)
- Intermediate skills in Excel demonstrated by a knowledge of pivot tables, formulas, and other methods of summarizing and manipulating data
- Basic analytical skills and the ability to spot patterns and connections
- Demonstrated positive work attitude and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, team lead, and supervisor both verbally as well as the ability to document in writing
- Ability to adapt positively and effectively with changing work flows to accommodate customer or business needs
- Excellent hearing (defined by the ability to hear and decipher a full range of tones over the course of an eight hour shift, to recognize background noises, and to detect audible level changes and spoken word errors)
- Ability to work with all genres of books and varied book content that might include highly diverse political, religious, or other views
