Information Security Engineer

Who We Need: 

We’re searching for an Information Security Engineer who will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure, controls, and processes at Brightwell. In this role you will ensure that our systems and data remain secure while enabling innovation and growth. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Compliance, and DevOps to identify threats, manage vulnerabilities, and maintain compliance with industry standards. 

**This is a HYBRID position based in Atlanta, GA. Candidates will be expected in the office a minimum of two days per week. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Design, implement, and monitor security controls to protect company data, infrastructure, and customer information. 
• Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and remediation tracking. 
• Manage and optimize security tools such as firewalls and endpoint protection. 
• Support incident detection, investigation, and response activities, including root cause analysis and post-incident reviews. 
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS). 
• Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines. 
• Lead risk assessments and security audits, ensuring documentation and evidence meet industry and regulatory requirements. 
• Evaluate and onboard new security technologies to strengthen the organization’s defensive capabilities. 
• Provide security training and guidance to internal teams to promote a strong security culture. 

As an Information Security Engineer, you have: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field. 
• 5 years of experience in information security, preferably in a financial services environment. 
• Experience leading SOC2 and PCI audits. 
• Strong understanding of network, application, and cloud security principles. 
• Hands on experience with incident reporting, threat hunting, and forensic analysis. 
• Outstanding attention to detail. 
• Ability to communicate with business users, technology leaders, and end users.
