DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)

Full-Time & Part-time, Hourly $21.00 – $23.10/hour

We will be interviewing for various positions, including Direct Support Professionals, with full-time and part-time shifts available.

The Role: As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. You will work closely with them, assisting with daily living activities, fostering their independence, promoting their well-being, and helping them connect with their communities. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to build meaningful relationships and make a tangible difference. This position requires a valid NYS Driver's License for 18 months with a clean driving history and succesfulk completion of Brightway Living & Learning's Transportation Orientation. New Hires that do not meet this criteria will be offered a lower rate, starting at $19.00/hour.

Shifts Available:

• Mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights, split shifts, 12-hour shifts
• Ex. Shifts: 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm,7am-10am/2pm-9pm, 2:30pm-10:30pm, 3/4-9pm, 7am-7pm, 8am-8pm, 7pm-7am, 8pm-8am, 9pm-8am, 9pm-7am

What You'll Do:

• Provide individualized support with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and community outings.
• Foster independence by helping individuals develop life skills and make choices.
• Promote social inclusion by supporting participation in community activities.
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating empathy and patience.
• Collaborate effectively with a supportive team of DSPs, supervisors, and families.

What You Bring to Brightway Living & Learning

• Ability to read, understand, and follow saftey guidelines.
• Must have a Valid NYS Driver's License for at least 18months and be able to obtain Brightway approved driver status.

What You Must Be Able to Do:

• Complete all required trainings, and participate in Peer Mentoring Program, in-service workships, and recertification trainings as required.
• Become certified and maintain certifications in SCIP-R, First Aide and CPR.
