What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Residential Electrician – New Construction position at BrightView Electric, LLC?
About the Position
BrightView Electric is hiring an experienced residential electrician for new-home construction projects throughout our working area.
This is primarily a hands-on construction position—not a residential sales position. The work includes rough wiring, service installation, device and fixture installation, electrical trim, testing, punch-list corrections, and preparation for inspections.
We are looking for someone who understands residential construction, can read plans and job specifications, and can complete assigned work safely and efficiently with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential electrical work from rough-in through trim and final completion.
- Install wiring, electrical panels and services, receptacles, switches, lighting, smoke alarms, and residential equipment connections.
- Read and follow residential plans, electrical layouts, specifications, and job markings.
- Lay out electrical work accurately before installation.
- Identify and correct electrical issues found during construction, testing, or punch-list work.
- Complete work in accordance with the National Electrical Code, local requirements, and project specifications.
- Coordinate respectfully with supervisors, builders, inspectors, and other trades on active construction sites.
- Use company materials responsibly and help maintain an organized, safe work area.
- Assist less-experienced employees when appropriate.
- Communicate job progress, material needs, and potential problems promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous hands-on residential electrical experience is required.
- Residential new-construction experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform rough-in and trim work with limited supervision.
- Ability to read residential plans and electrical layouts.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and standard residential wiring methods.
- Ability to use electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
- Dependable attendance and the ability to travel reliably to assigned job sites.
- Ability to work safely on ladders, in basements, in attics, and in typical residential construction conditions.
- Ability to communicate professionally and work as part of a construction crew.
Compensation and Benefits
- $24–$30 per hour, based on demonstrated experience and ability.
- Full-time employment.
- Paid time off.
What We Will Ask About
Applicants should be prepared to discuss:
- The number and types of new homes they have wired.
- Their experience completing rough-in and final trim.
- Whether they can lay out a home from plans.
- Their experience installing residential services and panels.
