Overview

As a Quality & Environmental Systems Compliance Specialist, you'll be responsible for maintaining the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and related industry certifications. This includes compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems), FSC Chain‑of‑Custody certification, FedRAMP (Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program), and internal Master Document Control processes. The specialist supports audits, documentation, continuous improvement, and client‑facing compliance activities.

What You'll Do

Compliance

  • ISO 9001 – Quality Management Systems: Ensures consistent quality of products and services, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
  • ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems: Ensures effective environmental controls, sustainability practices, and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • FSC – Forest Stewardship Council Chain‑of‑Custody Certification: Verifies that materials originate from responsibly managed forests, recycled sources, or controlled supply chains, ensuring traceability throughout production and distribution. Responsibilities include material segregation, labeling accuracy, documentation control, and audit readiness.
  • FedRAMP – Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program: A U.S. government‑wide program providing a standardized security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring framework for cloud services. Responsibilities include maintaining security documentation, supporting audits, ensuring compliance with federal security controls, and sustaining continuous monitoring requirements.

Additional Duties

  • Maintain and administer master document control and ensure documentation accuracy, version integrity, and retention.
  • Provide directions for continuous improvement and support client complaint investigations and resolutions.
  • Manage compliance documentation, reporting, certification records, and audit evidence.
  • Evaluate efficiency of QMS/EMS controls and identify risks or non‑conformities.
  • Revise procedures, work instructions, and forms as needed.
  • Develop and deliver compliance and quality training.
  • Prepare reports for senior management, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors as necessary.

  • Establish objectives and measure results for assigned areas.
  • Identify training needs and propose training plans.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What You'll Bring

Education and Experienced Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, environmental science, or related field
  • 3–6 years’ experience in quality, compliance, or certification management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills Required

  • Experience managing audits with internal and external parties.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSC, and FedRAMP program requirements.
  • Analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of document control processes.
  • Skilled in training development and presentation.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency at an expert level.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $38,281 - $156,700. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance. Note: programs are subject to eligibility requirements.
