Skilled financial analyst focused on improving cloud cost modeling and variance analysis, financial forecasting and budgeting, unit economics, strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
A cloud financial analyst poses the ability to explain finance concepts to technology, experience accounting or cost management roles, understand chargeback or showback models and promote accountability.
A cloud financial analyst will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of cloud data i.e. spend and usage.
Responsibilities
Good knowledge of MS Office, and MS Power Tools (BI, Apps, Query).
Experience with AWS, Azure & GCP cloud environments (a plus) or willingness to be trained.
Success Profile

A cloud financial analyst will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of cloud data i.e. spend and usage.
Responsibilities
- Responsible in cloud costs management and optimization, i.e.
- Analyze cloud usage and spend across accounts, subscriptions, and services
- Identify cost-saving opportunities (idle resources, overprovisioned services)
- Recommend and track savings plans, reserved instances, and commitments
- Partner with technology to right-size workloads, and all other best practices to optimize spending
- Visualization and reporting, create reports, dashboards, graphs, and other data visualizations to present findings in a clear and compelling way for product team, finance and technology management.
- Responsible in budgeting, forecasting, & financial planning, i.e.
- Create cloud budgets at team level, project, or product levels
- Forecast monthly/quarterly cloud spend based on usage trends
- Track actuals vs. forecast and explain variances
- Support annual and long-range financial planning for cloud investments
- Cost allocation & chargeback/showback, i.e.
- Collaborate with design and maintain tagging strategies
- Allocate cloud costs to teams, cost center, projects, etc.
- Process invoice with associated chargeback/showback models to promote accountability
- Cost governance including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and modeling
- Reporting and insights on financial analysis and cost control strategies
- Collaborate directly with finance/accounting/technology
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc data analysis and provides insight and recommendations
- Processes invoice, chargeback and maintains GL balances
- Responsible in historical comparative analysis
- Minimum 6-8 years' experience required in finance, accounting or related field
- Bachelor's Degree with major in Business, Finance, or Accounting required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong financial / business systems experience, preferably SAP and BPC
- Must be a detail oriented self-starter with strong organization skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to travel on occasion
- Must be able to pass a security investigation
- Work overtime as needed
- Report generation/analysis using MS Office, Power Query & PBI
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud & MS Azure
- Team player and have experience effectively communicating analytical insights with technology
- Knowledge in cost review and chargeback process
- Working with DevOps and Finance on forecasting cloud spend and reviewing budget
- Advising on optimization activities and cloud commitments
- Maintaining PowerBI dashboards for cloud spend visualizations for internal audience
