Overview

The Business Evaluation function provides independent financial, pricing, strategic, and risk-based analysis to support major bids, contract extensions, renewals, direct negotiations, and investment decisions.

The Senior Manager, Business Evaluation will manage the financial business case process for strategic opportunities, with a focus on cash-flow modeling, valuation, bid economics, pricing strategy, risk assessment, and executive-ready recommendations for new business opportunities worldwide. This role requires strong financial acumen, ownership mentality, diligence, and the ability to work effectively in a project environment with shifting priorities, fixed deadlines, and senior-level stakeholder interaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead the business case and financial modeling process for long-term contracts, RFPs, extensions, renewals, negotiations, and other commercial opportunities (e.g. Product Sales).
• Build, maintain, and control detailed financial models from opportunity inception through approval, proposal submission, negotiation, and contract signature as applicable.
• Evaluate opportunities using cash-flow generation, valuation metrics, competitiveness, financial risk, strategic value, and customer requirements.
• Review RFP/tender requirements, commercial terms, evaluation criteria, and compliance considerations that affect pricing, financial assumptions, or proposal strategy.
• Coordinate input from support groups: Sales, Operations, Marketing, Treasury, Finance, Tax, Compliance, Legal, Technology, and other functional groups.
• Track and document key assumptions, risks, sensitivities, open items, decisions, and financial changes throughout the evaluation lifecycle.
• Develop clear, actionable summaries from detailed financial analysis for management review and decision-making.
• Drive business case reviews with management and stakeholders to secure alignment, resolve open assumptions, and support approval processes.
• Advise Sales and senior management on pricing strategy, bid economics, alternative scenarios, and customer-facing financial commitments.
• Oversee the creation of final price proposal materials for formal procurements, direct negotiations, or other customer submissions.
• Support special projects, valuation analyses, post-mortem reviews, portfolio reporting, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline required. MBA, master’s degree, CPA, CFA, or equivalent advanced finance/business credentials or experience.
• Progressive experience in finance: accounting, corporate finance, business case development, strategic pricing analyses, consulting, or related analytical field.
• Strong experience creating and managing financial models, with emphasis on cash flow, valuation, pricing scenarios, and business case analysis.
• Experience with government procurements, formal RFP processes, regulated industries, lottery/gaming, technology services, outsourcing, or long-term service contracts.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills, professional judgment, and comfort working with ambiguity.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, gather input from diverse stakeholders, and communicate complex analysis clearly across levels -- from detailed model reviews to concise senior-management summaries.
• International experience or exposure to multi-currency, multi-jurisdictional, or cross-border business cases.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong PowerPoint capability for executive-ready summaries.

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $90,746 - $200,000. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.
