We’re looking for an Automation & Controls Engineer who loves solving complex challenges and driving efficiency. In this role, you’ll take ownership of automated systems across our facility—starting with packaging and end-of-game processes—and help shape the next generation of automation solutions. You’ll work side by side with engineering, operations, and vendor partners to keep our systems running at peak performance.
What You’ll Do
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses. Overview
We’re looking for an Automation & Controls Engineer who loves solving complex challenges and driving efficiency. In this role, you’ll take ownership of automated systems across our facility—starting with packaging and end-of-game processes—and help shape the next generation of automation solutions. You’ll work side by side with engineering, operations, and vendor partners to keep our systems running at peak performance.
What You’ll Do
- Lead improvements to automation and control systems that boost efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
- Upgrade and optimize automated equipment through PLC programming, robotic integration, and hardware/software enhancements.
- Collaborate across teams to identify bottlenecks and deliver smart automation solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, from hardware failures to network communication problems.
- Analyze and innovate with feasibility studies and cost-benefit assessments for future upgrades.
- Manage projects using structured practices to deliver on time and within budget.
- Stay ahead of the curve by exploring advancements in packaging automation, robotics, and industrial controls.
- Empower others by training operators and maintenance staff on best practices for automated systems.
- A degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field—or equivalent experience.
- 2 years in a manufacturing environment with automation and controls responsibilities.
- Strong PLC programming skills and knowledge of industrial control systems (Rockwell, Siemens, or similar).
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting robotics, sensors, and communication networks.
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards (ISA, NFPA, CSA).
- Proven ability to manage projects and deliver technical solutions within cost and schedule constraints.
- A proactive mindset and problem-solving skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with packaging automation and Yaskawa robotic systems.
- Background in printing, converting, or finishing processes.
- Vendor integration and troubleshooting expertise.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools.
