Role Description
Brightstar Communications is seeking a Fire Alarm Cable Technician for a full-time, on-site role located in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will install, maintain, and repair fiber optic and low voltage cabling systems. Responsibilities include working with structured cabling setups, installing network systems, troubleshooting cabling issues, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards. The role will require the use of hand tools, understanding of electrical principles, and the ability to collaborate with project teams to complete installations on time and effectively.
Qualifications
- Experience with cables, cabling, and structured cabling systems
- Experience with fire alarm systems
- Knowledge of basic electricity concepts and safety procedures in cabling projects
- Proficiency with hand tools and equipment used in cabling installation and maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, climb ladders, and work in various environments
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in cabling or telecommunications are a plus
- Previous experience in fire alarm and/or low voltage installations preferred
MUST be able to pass a criminal background check
