Director of Clinical Compliance (DCC)
Summary
The Director of Clinical Compliance (DCC) is a Registered Nurse responsible for the overall direction of home health clinical services. The DCC ensures the quality and adequacy of services provided and oversees clinical staff. This role includes establishing, implementing, and evaluating goals and objectives for home health services that promote high standards of care. The DCC ensures care is coordinated across services and that each client’s needs are identified and addressed through assessments, care planning, and supervision. This position is located in Santa Barbara, California. It is not a remote position and there is no relocation benefits available.

Responsibilities
- Assess the competency of clinical staff and ensure proper staff assignment to promote quality, continuity, and safety in client care
- Provide care within the scope of the state’s Nurse Practice Act
- Deliver services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skill
- Infusions
- Initiate appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures
- Prepare clinical and progress notes, as well as care summaries
- Supervise, plan, and implement in-service and training programs
- Conduct performance evaluations of field staff nurses
- Oversee the maintenance of clinical records, statistics, reports, and documentation for evaluation and compliance
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as Joint Commission standards
- Identify and participate in performance improvement activities
- Participate in weekly Skilled Care team meetings and assist with facilitation
- Meet weekly with the Home Health Administrator and Director of Patient Care Services to review department progress toward quarterly and annual objectives
- Participate in skilled after-hours on-call rotation
- Attend monthly meetings with the Operations Manager to ensure operational continuity of care and alignment with departmental goals
- Participate in bi-monthly Leadership Team Meetings (L10)
- Stay informed about changes in nursing and home health care practices, and share updates with the team
- Promote home health referrals within the healthcare community
- Collaborate with physicians and third-party administrators
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of California
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a National League for Nursing-accredited program
- Minimum of one (1) year of documented supervisory experience required
- Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience preferred, with at least one (1) year in a home health agency, primary care clinic, or health facility
- Reliable transportation and valid auto insurance
- Clean background check and drug screen
- Knowledge of state and federal regulatory compliance requirements
- Ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain client confidentiality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and relationship-building abilities
- Quick learner with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Compassionate bedside manner with a focus on building rapport with patients and families
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
