BrightStar Care of Iowa is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) for in-home infusions and skilled home health visits throughout the Des Moines Metro and surrounding communities.

What You'll Do

As a BrightStar Care Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide skilled nursing care to patients in their homes throughout the Des Moines area.

Responsibilities may include:

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments

• Develop and update individualized plans of care

• Provide skilled nursing visits

• Administer IV therapy and infusion therapies

• Perform wound care, catheter care, and ostomy care

• Administer medications and provide medication management

• Provide patient and caregiver education

• Provide post-surgical and post-hospitalization care

• Support patients managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, COPD, CHF, and hypertension

• Provide dementia and Alzheimer's care, including cognitive assessments

• Provide pediatric home health care, as applicable

• Supervise and support CNA and caregiver staff

• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team

• Document patient care using our mobile electronic charting system

• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and the care team

Infusion Nursing Opportunities

We are especially interested in RNs with strong IV insertion skills and hands-on experience administering infusion therapies.

Experienced infusion nurses who are comfortable working independently in the home setting are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Active RN license in good standing with the Iowa Board of Nursing

• 1 year of nursing experience required

• Home health experience preferred, but not required

• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and manage a patient caseload

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• Current auto insurance

• BLS/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

• EMR experience preferred but not required

Your Experience May Include

Home health experience is preferred but not required. Training and clinical support are provided.
