Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join the BrightSide team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately billing medical and behavioral health claims, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining patient financial records.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify patient insurance information
- Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims
- Resolve billing discrepancies and appeals
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient financial records
- Utilize medical coding systems such as ICD-10 and DRG for accurate claim submission
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding guidelines
- Assist with medical collections as needed
- Maintain HIPAA compliance with claims management and communication
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing preferred
- Proven/recent experience as a Medical Biller (min. 2 yr req)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures
- Proficient in using different medical billing softwares and electronic health record (EHR) systems (SimplePractice and/or ChARM experience a must)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
This is a fully remote, part-time position that has a 90 day probationary period. It requires self-motivation, excellent communication and organizational skills. Only looking for candidates that are willing to work part time! We're hoping the right person will grow with us, but need a person that will work 10-15 hours for at least 90 days before there is an increase in hours or pay.
