Brightpoint Community College invites applications for a full-time Security Officer III position, with assignments primarily covering the midnight shift at the Chester campus. Incumbents must be flexible and available to fill in for other shifts at both the Chester and Midlothian locations.
Responsibilities include enforcing college, local, and state policies, procedures, and regulations; conducting inspections of assigned areas; documenting incidents accurately and thoroughly; securing campus buildings and facilities; and monitoring and controlling visitor access.
Specific duties include identifying and reporting discrepancies, safety concerns, and hazardous conditions; performing routine foot and vehicular patrols; monitoring surveillance systems; responding promptly and effectively to emergencies; and providing security support for special events, including convocations, registration, and other college-sponsored functions.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
All full-time classified employees new to the Commonwealth of Virginia will serve a 12-month probationary period.
