Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and estimating, with the ability to assess vehicle damage accurately and provide comprehensive estimates for repairs. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you will interact with customers and collaborate with service technicians to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Duties
- Evaluate damaged vehicles and determine the extent of repairs needed.
- Prepare detailed estimates for repair costs, including parts and labor.
- Collaborate with service technicians to understand repair processes and timelines.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle's condition and repair options.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, repair techniques, and estimating software.
- Assist in managing the workflow within the body shop to ensure timely completion of repairs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive repair or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes and tools is essential.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, including brake repair, shocks/struts, and air brake systems.
- Excellent sales skills to promote services effectively to customers.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of service technicians.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly to customers.
- Certification or training in automotive service or related fields is a plus.
