Role Description The Child Care Center Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Lancaster East, NY, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the center and ensuring high-quality care and education for all children. This role includes managing staff scheduling, performance, and ongoing training, as well as supporting curriculum implementation and age-appropriate programming in classrooms. The Director maintains compliance with licensing and regulatory standards, oversees safety and health protocols, and ensures that the physical environment is clean, secure, and engaging. The position involves building strong relationships with families through regular communication, enrollment support, and addressing concerns in a timely, professional manner. The Director also monitors center budgets, supports marketing and community outreach efforts, and continuously evaluates programs to improve quality and child outcomes.
- Experience in Case Management or coordinating services and resources for children and families, with strong organizational and follow-through
- Demonstrated Training experience in leading staff development, coaching educators, and implementing best practices in early childhood
- Relevant education such as a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field.
- Experience in leadership or management within child care, education, or a similar setting, including supervising staff and managing operations.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with families, staff, and community partners.
- Knowledge of licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and quality assurance practices for child care centers.
- Basic proficiency with computer systems for record-keeping, scheduling, and parent communication platforms.
