What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Plumber position at Brightpath Associates LLC?
WHO WE ARE
We are a growing West Michigan plumbing contractor with a solid reputation for quality craftsmanship on both residential new construction and commercial projects. We work alongside respected builders and general contractors throughout the region, and we take pride in doing things right the first time. Our team is tight-knit, our jobs are well-organized, and we are at a point in our growth where we need a true field leader to anchor our operations.
THE ROLE
This is not just a tools-in-hand position. We are looking for someone who can run a crew, own a job from rough-in to final inspection, and be the point of contact our general contractors trust. You will work alongside motivated apprentices and journeymen, set the standard for quality and professionalism on every job site, and grow into a long-term leadership role as the company expands.
What you will do day-to-day:
• Lead a small crew of journeymen and apprentices on residential and commercial job sites
• Manage job progress, material lists, and scheduling in coordination with the owner
• Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors and inspectors on your jobs
• Perform and oversee all phases of plumbing: rough-in, top-out, trim, and service
• Mentor apprentices and build their skills on the job
• Ensure every job meets Michigan code, company quality standards, and customer expectations
• Communicate clearly and proactively — no surprises for the owner or the GC
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required qualifications:
✔ Michigan Master Plumber license (active)
✔ Experience leading a plumbing crew on commercial or mixed commercial/residential work
✔ Strong project management instincts — you think ahead, not just about today
✔ Professionalism on the job site and with customers / GC contacts
✔ Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation
Strong-fit candidates will also have:
• Experience mentoring or developing apprentices
• Familiarity with commercial ground-up construction and AIA/lien waiver billing processes
• A natural ability to keep crew morale high while holding a high standard
• Experience reading commercial blueprints and coordinating with other trades
WHAT WE OFFER
• $38 – $43 per hour, commensurate with experience
• Steady pipeline of residential new construction and commercial projects across West Michigan
• Small company where your voice is heard and your work makes a real difference
• A leadership role with room to grow as the company grows
• Owner who is invested in your success and committed to building a great place to work
