We’re Hiring: Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical
Location: South Bend, IN
Job Type: Full-Time
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical to join our team and play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, supporting new product launches, and ensuring production readiness.
This is a great opportunity for an engineer with 2 years of manufacturing or production engineering experience who enjoys hands-on problem-solving, process improvement, tooling/fixture design, and working closely with production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and improve manufacturing processes and methods
- Design and develop tools, fixtures, equipment, and check fixtures
- Collaborate with Design, Quality, and Production teams
- Analyze production data and troubleshoot manufacturing issues
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs
- Develop and release accurate part routings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Support new product launches and ensure production readiness
- Develop production-ready processes, patterns, prints, tools, and fixtures
- Train production personnel on new processes and equipment
- Support equipment budgeting, capital planning, and estimating activities
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet applicable safety and quality standards
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, tooling, and equipment
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and project management abilities
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
