Are you passionate about metal casting, process optimization, and solving complex manufacturing challenges? We're looking for a Foundry Engineer to join our growing team in Tacoma, WA. In this role, you'll play a key part in developing casting processes, improving product quality, and driving continuous improvement across foundry operations.
What You'll Do
- Design and optimize gating and riser systems for metal castings.
- Develop casting processes using engineering calculations and solidification analysis.
- Partner with CAD designers to create and maintain manufacturing models and drawings.
- Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Support process improvement, quality enhancement, cost reduction, and safety initiatives.
- Assist with manufacturing cost estimates and process planning.
- Work closely with Operations, Quality, and Production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing.
- Evaluate and implement new foundry technologies and best practices.
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of experience in a Foundry Engineering or related manufacturing engineering role.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience with CREO or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of metallurgy, casting processes, or welding engineering.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to improve manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing automation is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
