Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Leader
Location: Somerset, PA
Travel: Up to 50% (across PA, MS, and TX)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Leader to drive and manage all EHS initiatives across multiple facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering a strong safety culture, and leading the implementation and expansion of EHS programs, including ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) metrics.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role with growth potential as the organization expands.
Key Responsibilities
EHS Program Management
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Environmental, Health & Safety programs across all facilities
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Lead EHS initiatives aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and ANSI standards
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and local authorities
- Oversee compliance reporting and audits
Safety Culture & Leadership
- Conduct regular site inspections and warehouse floor walks
- Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, training, and engagement
- Lead and support safety committees and site leadership teams
Incident Management & Risk Reduction
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Drive initiatives to reduce workplace injuries and hazards
Training & Development
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs
- Ensure employees and supervisors are educated on safety practices and compliance requirements
- Coordinate emergency preparedness training, including fire drills and evacuation plans
ESG & Reporting
- Develop and manage ESG metrics related to EHS performance
- Track leading and lagging indicators and report to leadership and board stakeholders
- Support sustainability and governance initiatives
Project & Systems Management
- Support EHS integration during mergers and acquisitions
- Lead EHS-related capital projects and recommend safety equipment investments
- Manage compliance systems such as Benchmark Gensuite
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams
- Support strategic and tactical EHS planning across locations
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Science, Environmental Health, or related field
- (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional) required
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments
- Experience managing multi-site EHS programs preferred
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and ANSI regulations
- Experience with compliance systems (e.g., Benchmark Gensuite)
- Familiarity with ESG reporting and metrics
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as PE, EIT, PMP, or CAPM
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC or DFSS) methodologies
