Position Overview: The Applications Engineer role will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper selection and application of our vast collection of combustion products. This individual will work closely with our outside sales team, sales representatives, distributors, and key accounts, providing technical solutions to complex combustion opportunities
Core Responsibilities
- Solution Design: Analyze customer inquiries and technical specifications to design and select optimal equipment solutions.
- Proposal Management: Take ownership of the entire proposal process, from initial inquiry to contract award. This includes:
- Developing accurate cost estimates and setting competitive product pricing.
- Coordinating with internal teams to ensure all required documentation and drawings for quotations are completed efficiently.
- Drafting, editing, and issuing formal quotations to clients.
- Engaging in post-proposal follow-up and negotiation to secure new business.
- Customer & Site Support: Travel to customer facilities to conduct on-site technical reviews, gather necessary details for proposal generation, and provide direct support.
- Strategic Collaboration: Perform technical risk assessments on new inquiries and work with management to continuously improve skills and adapt to new tools and technologies.
- Reporting & Communication: Provide regular status updates to management on the progress of all proposals. Create and update professional sales presentations and documents using Microsoft Office and other web-based platforms.
Desired Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or a related field).
- 2-5 years of relevant industry experience in sales, applications engineering, or a related technical role is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
- Hands-on or field experience with combustion equipment is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
