Tax Assistant (Seasonal)

Job Summary

Brighton Securities, an independent financial services firm, is looking to hire a full-time Tax Assistant for the 2025 season. Reporting to the Manager of Tax Services, the Tax Assistant plays a key role in enduring the smooth execution of tax workflows by assisting with document management, client file creation, administration support, and client service functions.

• Scan, organize, and maintain client tax documents in both electronic and physical formats.
• Create and manage client files to support the tax preparation process.
• Update and manage client information in the firm’s CRM tool (Canopy) to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Collaborate with Tax Department staff to ensure efficient and accurate workflow execution.
• Assist with administrative duties, including preparing invoices, printing completed tax returns, and processing e-signatures and payments.
• Monitor the status of client files and follow up as needed to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and client information.
• Provide general administrative support to the Tax Department as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field preferred and/or 2–3 years of experience in an administrative role.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with document management software; experience with tax software and CRM platforms (such as Canopy) is a plus.
