Seasonal Tax Preparer (Full-time)

Job Summary

Brighton Securities, an independent financial services firm, is looking for full-time Tax Preparers for the 2025 season. Reporting to the Manager of Tax Services, the Tax Preparer is responsible for the review and preparation of tax returns. In this full-time, seasonal role, you will work within a team of preparers and administrative staff to gather data and prepare tax returns with accuracy. Administrative functions to be performed may include creating documents in MS Word and Excel, reviewing tax returns for accuracy, processing tax returns, researching tax issues, and maintaining backup documentation and workflow in CRM system. 

• Prepare and review personal, business, and fiduciary tax returns.
• Act as quality control by reviewing tax returns for accuracy and referring complicated returns to the Manager of Tax Services as appropriate.
• Gather and organize client data.
• Support the Manager of Tax Services by tracking progress on returns and researching assigned tax issues.
• Updates and maintains integrity of data and workflow in CRM tool.
• Maintains compliance with tax regulations by researching current regulations and referring difficult interpretations to supervisor.
• Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Ad hoc projects and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in applicable field preferred
• Prior experience with tax preparation preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of individual, business, and fiduciary income tax returns
• Knowledge and initiative to improve inefficiencies, propose solutions to problems, and work independently.
