Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking to promote healthy living
- Support medication administration and manage care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare standards
- Engage clients in meaningful social activities and provide companionship to enhance emotional well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
- Observe and document patient behaviors or symptoms related to dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism, or developmental disabilities to inform ongoing care strategies
Experience
- Prior experience working in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient care practices including CPR, first aid, and hospice or memory care is essential
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities such as autism or developmental challenges enhances your ability to deliver personalized support
- Experience with patient monitoring tools and techniques for vital signs assessment is advantageous
- Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident transfer devices
- Background in social work or long-term care environments supports comprehensive understanding of care planning and resident engagement
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of caregiving
