Responsibilities
- Co-lead the photonics engineering process from idea conception to device characterization, including: literature research, device design, simulation, layout, measurement, and performance analysis.
- Take ownership over the measurement process including designing experiments, building setups, and performing analysis.
- Design and simulate on-chip sapphire photonic circuits and supporting production equipment.
- Layout circuits to send to the fabrication team.
- Work closely with the fabrication and product development teams.
- Participate in collaborative R&D projects with academic and industry partners, attend and present at conferences.
- Opportunities to take on new leadership roles as our photonics team grows.
- PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or related fields.
- Strong theoretical background in optics and photonics.
- Extensive experience with optics or photonics experiment.
- Experience in theory/measurement of lasers and frequency combs.
- Extensive experience in photonic circuit design, simulation, measurement.
