Duties
- Implement evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to support clients’ goals.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), to promote independence.
- Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress accurately to inform treatment plans.
- Support teaching strategies that enhance communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors tailored to each individual’s needs.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records responsibly.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent implementation of care plans.
- Document all sessions thoroughly in medical documentation systems, including progress notes and behavior management reports.
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy principles and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with adults or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder.
- Excellent communication skills for teaching, explaining strategies, and collaborating with team members.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to behavior management and treatment outcomes.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care practices, and medical documentation standards.
