What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Supervisor position at Brighter Sky Counseling?
Overview
Brighter Sky Counseling is a group private practice in Billings, Montana, built on a simple belief: when we care well for our clinicians, they are able to care well for their clients. We are a collaborative team that values thoughtful clinical work, professional growth, and a warm, genuinely human workplace. Our mission begins with providing compassionate, high-quality mental health care that empowers clients to heal, grow, and thrive, and it extends to investing in the well-being and development of the therapists who make that care possible.
Our work is grounded in four values: community, growth, imperfection, and harmony. We believe we are better together, that when we know better we do better, that setbacks are part of the journey, and that space for the full complexity of being human belongs in the workplace as much as in the therapy room.
About the Role
We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team as a therapist and clinical supervisor. This role is well suited to an experienced clinician who enjoys carrying a caseload of their own while also mentoring and supervising emerging clinicians working toward licensure. It is an ideal fit for someone who finds meaning in developing the next generation of therapists and wants to do that work within a supportive, well-run practice.
This position begins part time, with a clear opportunity to grow into full time as the practice continues to expand.
Schedule
The regular schedule for this position is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, plus every other Thursday. Specific hours are set in collaboration with our clinical leadership team based on client needs and office availability.
What You Will Do
- Provide direct clinical services to a caseload of clients using evidence-informed, client-centered approaches.
- Provide clinical supervision to provisionally licensed clinicians working toward LCSW licensure in Montana.
- Mentor and support emerging clinicians, offering guidance, feedback, and encouragement as they develop their clinical skills and professional identity.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically sound documentation consistent with Brighter Sky Counseling standards and applicable ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with the clinical leadership team to support quality of care and a healthy, connected team culture.
- Incorporate the mission, vision, and values of Brighter Sky Counseling into all aspects of the work.
What We Are Looking For
- An active, unrestricted LCSW license in the State of Montana, or eligibility to obtain Montana licensure by the start date.
- Eligibility to provide clinical supervision toward LCSW licensure under Montana requirements, or a willingness to complete the steps to do so.
- Experience providing psychotherapy across a range of presenting concerns.
- Genuine interest in and aptitude for supervising and mentoring developing clinicians.
- Strong clinical judgment, ethical grounding, and documentation skills.
- A collaborative, growth-minded approach that fits our team culture.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is competitive and production-based, reflecting the clinical work you provide. Range from $50-$65 per clinical hour.
You will be supported by strong administrative and billing staff, so your energy can stay focused on clinical work and supervision rather than paperwork and logistics. As this position grows into full time, the benefits package includes employer contributions toward health and dental insurance, a supplemental insurance contribution, a retirement match, and accrued paid time off. Across every stage, we are committed to your ongoing professional development and growth as a clinician and leader.
