Assistant Infant Teacher

Job Summary
The Assistant Infant Teacher supports the Lead Infant Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months. This role includes assisting with feeding, diapering, maintaining a clean classroom, and promoting early developmental milestones through play-based learning and care routines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the daily care of infants including feeding, diapering, and napping.
• Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
• Engage with infants through songs, stories, sensory play, and age-appropriate games.
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Observe and document children’s growth and development.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and other staff.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing training as required by state licensing.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDA (Child Development Associate) or willingness to obtain preferred.
• Experience working with infants in a licensed child care setting strongly preferred.
• Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform tasks that involve bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.

Work Schedule:

Full-time or part-time; hours may vary based on center needs.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
