Duties
- Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, and feeding, to foster independence and improve functional skills.
- Collect and analyze behavioral data accurately during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment plans.
- Implement individualized ABA therapy protocols designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), ensuring fidelity to treatment plans.
- Support clients in developing communication skills through teaching techniques tailored to each child's needs.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, care plans, and behavioral records while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
- Conduct behavior management strategies to reduce problematic behaviors and reinforce positive behaviors effectively.
- Communicate regularly with clients’ families and caregivers about progress, challenges, and strategies for generalization of skills across environments.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children, especially those with autism spectrum disorders or neurodevelopmental disabilities, is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management techniques, and special education principles.
- Ability to assist with ADLs and implement behavior therapy protocols in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Experience working in home-based settings or school environments supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and family engagement.
- Demonstrated understanding of ethical guidelines outlined in the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts.
