What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Delaware County position at Brighter Abilities?
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living, social activities, community involvement, and skill development. DSPs work directly with clients receiving services and ensure health, safety, and personal growth in line with individualized service plans (ISPs) and Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DoDD) standards.
- Provide direct care, supervision, and companionship to our clients with disabilities in their home and community settings.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including but not limited to hygiene, dressing, toileting, meal prep, and medication reminders.
- Support individuals in achieving their specific goals outlined in their Individual Support Plan (ISP) and document progress as required.
- Foster independence by encouraging skill-building and community integration.
- Implement behavior support strategies in a respectful and proactive manner.
- Transport our clients safely to appointments, events, or outings as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and time sheets.
- Monitor and report health or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Follow all agency policies and comply with Medicaid and DoDD regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the rights and dignity of everyone served.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
