Job Title: Temporary Hourly Painter
About the Role
Brighten Up Painting is seeking an experienced commercial painter. This is a temporary position, with the potential for future opportunities based on performance and upcoming work.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare, mask, brush, roll, and spray surfaces for interior and exterior projects
- Apply high-performance coatings, and specialty finishes
- Read and follow blueprints and job specifications
- Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, boom lifts, and scissor lifts
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas (OSHA compliance required)
- Track time, materials, and progress accurately
- Perform minor drywall patching and surface repairs as needed
Preferred Experience
- High-performance coatings, drywall finishes, and spray textures
- Paint mixing, matching, and blending
- Large-scale or high-end commercial projects
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional painting experience (commercial painting preferred)
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, coatings, and surface preparation methods
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish
- Excellent communication, customer service, and client-facing skills
- Experience operating lifts, scaffolding, and other job-site equipment
- Must possess basic painting tools and reliable transportation
- OSHA certification preferred
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Must provide three professional references from previous painting projects or employers
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide all required employment eligibility documentation
