Who We Are
At BrightBuds Therapy Hub, we are on a mission to ensure equitable access to high-quality ABA services and change lives—one step at a time. We are not just building a team; we are creating a community where inclusion, impact, and growth are the norm for our teammates and our patients. As we enter our next stage of development, we are seeking an experienced Clinical Director / Lead BCBA who wants the meaningful opportunity to help build and clinically govern our clinical department.
Why BrightBuds?
This is a rare opportunity to build rather than simply inherit an organization's clinical footprint. As our Clinical Director, you will enjoy:
- Protected Capacity: A reduced caseload by design, preserving dedicated, paid time to lead and grow the clinical department.
- Meaningful Influence: A powerful voice in defining clinical systems, policy, and organizational growth decisions.
- Team Leadership: The chance to recruit, hire, mentor, and develop the very clinical team you will ultimately lead.
- Focus on Quality: Joining an organization passionate about growing ABA through highly ethical, high-quality practices that protect continuity of care and support the people providing the services.
The Role
The Clinical Director serves as BrightBuds’ senior clinical leader during our startup, growth phase and seamlessly converts into a highly competitive, fully salaried leadership position as the practice stabilizes.
Unlike a traditional BCBA position, you will initially maintain a reduced caseload to focus on clinical leadership, infrastructure development, staff training, recruitment, and program growth. You will remain hands-on with assessments and launching initial services while establishing the systems necessary for responsible, quality-driven expansion. As the clinical team expands and additional BCBAs join, your focus will shift toward quality oversight, staff development, complex-case consultation, and launching new services.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical System Design: Help build BrightBuds' clinical service model, policies, workflows, and standards of care.
- Case Oversight & Launch: Assess, develop, launch, and stabilize initial client services while maintaining a reduced, highly manageable caseload.
- Staff Growth & Mentorship: Recruit, onboard, mentor, and supervise BCBAs and Behavior Technicians/RBTs.
- Scalable Systems: Develop robust systems for staff training, clinical supervision, treatment planning, documentation, and quality assurance.
- Complex Case Consultation: Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance for highly complex cases.
- Caseload & Capacity Management: Help determine appropriate caseloads and staffing based on clinical needs and organizational capacity.
- Case Transitions: Oversee clinically appropriate, seamless case transitions as the clinical team grows.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current BCBA® certification in good standing.
- Current Massachusetts Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) license.
- Strong experience in ABA assessment and treatment planning.
- Experience supervising and developing Behavior Technicians/RBTs.
- Strong clinical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet applicable payer credentialing requirements.
Preferred:
- Prior clinical leadership experience (e.g., Lead BCBA, Clinical Manager, Assistant Clinical Director, or Clinical Director). Prior Clinical Director experience is highly valued but not required; experienced BCBAs with demonstrated leadership ability ready to step up are encouraged to apply!
- Experience building or expanding an ABA program or service line.
- Experience hiring, mentoring, or supervising BCBAs and Behavior Technicians/RBTs.
- Experience developing staff-training, clinical documentation, or quality-assurance systems.
- Experience with clinical operations within a startup or growing ABA organization.
- Familiarity with payer, accreditation, or Autism Commission on Quality (ACQ)-aligned quality requirements.
