Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to promote positive behaviors and skill development.
- Collect, record, and analyze data on client progress to inform ongoing treatment strategies.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting, to support independence.
- Support clients during therapy sessions by teaching communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors aligned with their care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, session logs, and behavioral records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate closely with BCBAs and other team members to ensure consistent implementation of treatment plans.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging environment that encourages client participation and growth in behavioral health settings.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or in special education is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, including ABA methods and behavior management strategies.
- Strong data collection skills to track client progress accurately and efficiently.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, healthcare documentation standards, and maintaining confidential medical records.
- Excellent teaching abilities combined with patience and empathy to support diverse client needs.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans while adapting approaches based on individual responses.
