About the Role
We are seeking a warm, nurturing, and reliable Home Daycare Teacher to join our small, family-style childcare program. In this role, you will help create a safe, loving, and engaging environment where young children can learn, play, and grow. You'll work closely with the daycare owner to support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development in a home-based setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for children ranging in ages from infant through preschool, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and implement appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, storytime, music, outdoor play, and early learning lessons
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, toileting, and naptime
- Serve meals and snacks in accordance with program guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized environment, including toys, play areas, and shared spaces
- Observe and document children's progress, behavior, and milestones
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's day, development, and any concerns
- Foster positive social interactions and guide children using developmentally appropriate behavior management techniques
- Follow all Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations and licensing requirements
- Assist with arrival, pick-up, and transitions throughout the day
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- EEC Teacher Certification (Infant/Toddler or Preschool) strongly preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Prior experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or home-based setting
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to pass a CORI/SORI background check and fingerprinting as required by Massachusetts law
- Up-to-date immunizations and a recent physical/TB test
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with families
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a home environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (for carrying infants and toddlers)
- Comfortable sitting on the floor, bending, and being active throughout the day
- Able to safely evacuate children in case of emergency
