JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you passionate about swimming and eager to share your expertise with others?
Join our team as a Swim Instructor and make a splash in the lives of swimmers of all ages! In this role, you'll provide high-quality swim instruction to individuals or groups, focusing on water safety and stroke development. As a Swim Instructor, you'll teach essential swimming skills, instill confidence, promote a love for swimming, and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Facilitate swim lesson curriculum as provided by Bright Stars Academy
- Responsible for the safety of all program participants in group and individual lessons, and patrons on deck.
- Set up and break down lesson stations
- Effectively communicate information promptly to the supervisor
- Ensure that all rules and appropriate safety measures are stated, communicated, and carried out
- Foster positive and supportive relationships with the team and students
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and order for the aquatic facility
- Attend quarterly in-service training programs
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Be able to work a minimum of 2-3 days a week (3.0 to 5-hour shifts) during our peak hours which include: weekday afternoon/evening and Saturday morning availability
- Candidate must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and have a willingness to learn
- Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for 6 hours
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Red Cross CPR/AED certification
Preferred:
- Prior experience working with children in any setting
- Background in swim, lifeguarding
