What are the responsibilities and job description for the Float Teacher position at Bright Star Kids Academy?
Bright Star Kids Academy in Mill Creek is seeking a caring, flexible and dependable Float Teacher to join our team! A float Teacher plays an essential role in supporting classrooms across all age groups. They help by providing breaks for teachers, covering for planning time, and providing a safe, fun and nurturing environment for every child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom coverage as needed for breaks, planning time and absences
- Assist teachers in all classrooms including Toddlers (ages 1-2), Transition, Preschool and Pre- K
- Support classroom routines, activities and learning experiences
- Supervise and engage children in age appropriate play, learning and outdoor activities
- Help with diaper changes, potty training, meals and nap time
Requirements or willingness to complete upon hire:
- Cleared DCYF background check
- Cleared TB test
- Active MERIT account
- 30 hours STARS training
- CPR First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens
- MMR Vaccine
- DCYF Training courses
- Food Handlers Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a childcare setting
- Ability to work with all age groups ages 1yr-6yrs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, flexible and positive attitude
Schedule:
Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
