Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization of instruments.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and maintaining accurate documentation in systems such as Dentrix.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures with a gentle approach to ensure comfort for younger patients.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when applicable, enhancing the quality of patient care.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry practices.
- Proficiency in managing medical records and utilizing dental software such as Dentrix or Epic is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of X-ray procedures and safety regulations is essential.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, showcasing the ability to work well with children.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate patient records.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members.
