Brightsky Group of Services is a 50 year-old facility management company providing different services all nationwide and we are now in search of Yard Spotters for our location in Joliet, IL 60436.
Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and safety-conscious Yard Spotter to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently maneuvering tractor-trailers to transport empty trailers, and keeping the site organized., ensuring smooth and safe vehicle movements.
Responsibilities
- Safely guide and position empty trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, and other freight vehicles within the warehouse using proper manual handling techniques as a spotter.
- Assist with load & unload activities, ensuring cargo is handled in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and dangerous goods protocols when applicable.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles for safety, damage, or maintenance needs before and after movements.
Requirements
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required to communicate effectively with our diverse team.
- Availability: Must be available to start as soon as possible.
- Yard Spotter experience with a focus on tractor-trailers or similar freight vehicles.
- A background check and drug test will be conducted.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- No CDL Required (A valid driver's license required)
