What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Nutrition Assistant/Food Service for Eating Disorder Program position at Bright Road Recovery?
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A NUTRITION ASSISTANT/FOOD SERVICE PREP FOR OUR PATIENTS IN RESIDENTIAL EATING DISORDER TREATMENT.
Our ideal Nutrition Assistant candidate:
- Is confident and creative with cooking
- Is comfortable modeling normal eating behaviors with patients during meals
- Has experience in food service
- Has a normal relationship with food and eating, and can support patients by leading/co-leading meals and snacks
- Has evening and weekend availability
- Loves seeing patients recover from an eating disorder and other mental health diagnoses
- Lives close to Claremont for an easy commute
- Knows and understands eating disorders (or want to learn!)
- Is proficient in web-based applications
- Wants to bring creative ideas, passion, and expertise to further enrich and develop our dynamic program
- Loves nutrition and working closely with patients
- Is dedicated to helping our patients recover from eating disorders
- Is self-starting and loves working on a team
THIS POSITION REQUIRES FULL COVID-19 VACCINATION. THIS IS A FULLY-ONSITE POSITION
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completed or in progress- Bachelor of Science in Foods & Nutrition, Dietetics or related major
- Current or in progress- Food Handler's or ServSafe certification
- Knowledge of evidence based treatments
ROLE OF NUTRITION ASSISTANT
- Prepare a variety of meals according to patients' meal plans
- Lead and direct supported meals- monitoring meal completion, redirecting eating disorder behaviors and inappropriate topics of conversation
- Plating meal plan exchanges according to patients' meal plans
- Participate in care coordination, including multidisciplinary team meetings
- Maintain a clean kitchen environment
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation of meal records
- Provide milieu support to help patients abstain from eating disorder behaviors
- Help patients move towards a normal relationship with food
- Maintain appropriate and timely contact with members of the treatment team including Nutrition Program Manager, Clinical Dietitians, and Clinical Therapists
Physical Limitations:
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Computer & Equipment Skills:
- Has good general knowledge of computer operations; uses a keyboard and calculator proficiently and with a high degree of accuracy
- Uses Microsoft Office Word and Excel as well as Internet and email programs proficiently, including Google platform applications such as google docs, sheets, forms, slides, etc
- Uses typical office equipment
