Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Part-Time Afternoon Teacher to join our afterschool program team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children in a relaxed, supportive setting. You’ll help supervise and engage children in games, crafts, outdoor play, and other age-appropriate activities during the late afternoon hours.
Schedule:
- Weekday afternoons (exact hours TBD based on school dismissal time)
- Approximate shift: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Opportunities for additional hours during school breaks, early release days, and full-day care as needed
Duties
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and interact positively with children in the afterschool program
- Facilitate structured and unstructured activities such as crafts, games, outdoor play, and snack time
- Ensure a safe, clean, and inclusive environment
- Assist with daily check-in and pick-up procedures
- Communicate effectively with families and fellow staff members
- Help maintain classroom routines and behavior expectations
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Previous experience working with children preferred but not required
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and enjoys working as part of a team
- Must meet all state childcare licensing requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Salary : $17 - $20
