Responsibilities
- Design and execute creative, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where applicable.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that support each child's unique needs.
- Implement early intervention techniques and collaborate with specialists to support children with special education needs or additional learning challenges.
- Engage children in activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and overall childhood development while maintaining a safe environment aligned with child welfare standards.
- Conduct ongoing assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns related to child welfare or behavior.
- Manage classroom logistics including lesson planning, activity setup, and maintaining organized learning materials to ensure an enriching educational experience.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with preschool-aged children in early childhood education settings or daycare environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques tailored for young learners.
- Experience working with children who have special needs or require early intervention services is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Montessori methods or other specialized educational approaches such as toddler care or preschool education is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists while advocating for child welfare.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures related to early childhood assessment tools.
