Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Pay: $18.00 – $23.75/hour (based on experience)
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
- Create a safe, loving, and fun environment for toddlers
- Plan simple, creative weekly activities that spark curiosity
- Encourage learning through play, exploration, and new experiences
- Keep a watchful eye on children to ensure their safety at all times
- Help with snacks, meals, and daily routines
- Keep the classroom clean, organized, and engaging
- Support children’s emotional and physical needs
- Take kids outside for fresh air and active play
PARENT ENGAGEMENT
- Share daily updates through our parent app
- Build positive, respectful relationships with families
- Participate in conferences when needed
- Keep children’s information safe and confidential
- Know about classroom allergies and chronic conditions
- Record and report all incidents and accidents
- Report inappropriate behavior or parent complaints to the Director
- Report suspected child abuse or neglect as required by law
- Ensure all children’s needs are met at all times
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- 18 years old
- Experience working with children (1 year preferred)
- EEC Certification (required)
- CPR & First Aid Certification
- Coursework in Child Growth & Development (or willingness to obtain)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is in a childcare center that operates from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. This position may require additional work hours. Classroom assignment and scheduled hours are subject to change. Employees may be asked to report or to remain at work during adverse weather conditions. When required to report to work under these circumstances, the employee is expected to use sound judgment with respect to maintaining personal safety given his/her individual circumstances, but to also make a substantial good faith effort to reach the work site in a timely manner. Attends monthly staff meetings and professional development day trainings. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. Time off requests must be in writing at least 2 weeks in advance of the request. Respectful interactions with children, parents and co-workers
