Overview
Join our team as an orthodontic assistant, where your role involves chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. We offer excellent pay, profit-sharing, a great work environment, and a schedule that provides time for an excellent work-life balance (open 12 days a month, with two 5-7 day breaks each month).
Previous experience as an orthodontic or dental assistant REQUIRED.
We have offices in Cortez and Durango, and travel to both offices is required.
Pay is $23 to $30 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques.
- Take impressions for retainers and other appliances.
- Take orthodontic X-rays.
- Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, including appliance maintenance, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment guidelines.
- share on-call responsibilities (repair appointments) on days the office is closed.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records and compliance with privacy laws.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
