As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credentialing Specialist to join our administrative team.
Position Summary
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes with insurance companies, regulatory agencies, and internal departments. This role ensures compliance with industry standards and supports seamless operations across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete and submit credentialing and re-credentialing applications for providers and facilities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider files, certifications, licenses, and other documentation.
- Monitor and track expiration dates for licenses, certifications, malpractice insurance, and other required credentials.
- Serve as the main point of contact between Bright Behavior Health and insurance payers regarding credentialing status.
- Follow up with payers to ensure timely approvals, resolve discrepancies, and update enrollment information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific credentialing requirements.
- Maintain credentialing databases and generate reports as needed.
- Collaborate with HR, billing, and leadership teams to support onboarding and operational processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of credentialing experience (behavioral health or medical credentialing preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with CAQH, NPI, PECOS, and insurance enrollment portals is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and credentialing software systems.
