What are the responsibilities and job description for the School-Age Lead Teacher position at Bright Beginnings Preschool and Childcare?
Overview
As our small center continues to grow, we are looking for an extra set of hands. Our school age room will be bustling after Summer School ends on July 9th and we would love to find a passionate and qualified teacher to join our crew.
Responsibilities
- Be warm and kind to both children and their parents
- We split our large crew into 2 smaller groups throughout the day, you will lead and supervise a group during reading time, craft/activity, and free play
- Sign students in and out both on clipboard and Procare system
- Work with co-teacher in a collaborative and respectful manner
- Classroom cleaning - wiping down tables/chairs, vacuuming, light dusting, etc.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
- 240hrs (2-3 months) of experience as an assistant childcare teacher, a licensed family childcare provider (Home daycare), or in another approved early childhood setting
- One of the following:
- A certificate from the Wisconsin Registry indicating that the person is qualified as a child care teacher
- Four credits in early childhood education or its equivalent from an institution of higher education
- Forty-eight credits from an institution of higher education with at least 3 credits in early childhood education or its equivalent
- A one-year child care diploma in child care or early childhood education from an institution of higher education
- An associate degree in early childhood education or child care from an institution of higher education
- A Child Development Associate credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition
- While we are hoping to hire a lead-qualified candidate, we are open to helping the right candidate become lead-teacher eligible through Zoom trainings paid for by Bright Beginnings
