The Guest Services & Front Desk Specialist serves as the welcoming face of the Hinckley Center, providing exceptional customer service to visitors, employees, and event guests. This role ensures smooth daily operations at the front desk, coordinates guest check-ins and tours, supports event logistics, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, highly organized, and committed to creating positive experiences for all who enter the building.
Note: This is a part-time position (28) hours per week.

Typical Starting Pay: $17.00-$21.50
The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.

The Guest Services & Front Desk Specialist serves as the welcoming face of the Hinckley Center, providing exceptional customer service to visitors, employees, and event guests. This role ensures smooth daily operations at the front desk, coordinates guest check-ins and tours, supports event logistics, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment. What Will You’ll Do In This Position
- Provide warm, professional guest service at the front desk, including greeting visitors, answering questions, and assisting guests with information about campus.
- Manage phone calls
- Check in guests and tour groups, coordinate parking needs, and communicate guest arrivals to tour partners.
- Support events by directing guests, resolving basic concerns, and reporting operational issues. Assist with A/V needs for events.
- Perform building oversight duties such as walkthroughs, monitoring common areas, and reporting safety or cleanliness concerns.
- Open and close the building during scheduled shifts and assist with after-hours events.
- Complete administrative and facility care tasks, including plant care, updating informational materials, and assisting with Christmas decorating. (Requires ability to lift up to 30lbs.)
- Assist with special assignments and projects needed.
What qualifies you for this role:
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
- 2-4 years of customer service experience
- Bachelor’s degree or some college experience along with 2-4 years of customer service experience.

Work Schedule
- Tuesday–Friday: 12:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday evenings: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Friday & Saturday evenings: As needed (rotating basis)
