Grounds Maintenance Worker (part-time, 17.5 hours/week)
The Grounds Maintenance Part-Time Worker will perform a variety of gardening duties, including planting, weeding, mowing, edging, litter clean-up, etc. for the assigned area. They will also assist their supervisor in various tasks including snow removal during the winter season.

Grounds Maintenance Worker (part-time, 17.5 hours/week)
The Grounds Maintenance Part-Time Worker will perform a variety of gardening duties, including planting, weeding, mowing, edging, litter clean-up, etc. for the assigned area. They will also assist their supervisor in various tasks including snow removal during the winter season.
What You’ll Do In This Position
- Pick up litter, change garbage liners, remove illegal fliers, and clean after tasks.
- Edge sidewalks and curbs, string trim, mow, clean grass clippings, report pests/disease, aerate, sod, and topdress.
- Remove leaves/weeds, apply mulch, prune ground covers, identify pests/diseases, help coordinate pruning and chemical applications.
- Help supervisor design, plant, water, weed, deadhead flowers, identify pests/diseases, coordinate chemical applications.
- Help supervisor inspect, repair, adjust, and replace damaged heads; report valve/line issues.
- Help supervisor track plants for campus restoration.
- Help supervisors perform regular maintenance on all equipment.
- Maintains hard surfaces, including weeding cracks in curbs, gutters, and walks, blowing and sweeping and reporting vandalism
- Maintains sprinkler heads, including inspecting and reporting valve and line problems
- Available 24/7 during the season for snow removal and communication to ensure campus safety

- Willing to train on all job functions
- Ability to stand or crouch in a variety of positions, operating on one’s feet for an extended period of time to perform various labor tasks (required)
- Works well with others (required)
- Regular and consistent attendance at scheduled shift (required)
- 1-2 years landscaping experience
